Dear Mr. Mayhall,
While combing the Internet on an unrelated topic, I stumbled across the delightful newsletter you put out for the Bradworthy area, as well as the reference in the November 2000 issue to my favorite novelist, Charles Garvice.
After picking up one of his novels at a used book sale here in Minnesota, a friend of mine and I began to hunt for any Garvice novels we can find, and the amusing and well-constructed plots are still worth an evening's repose.
We were even thinking of making a trip to "Creamland," having gone so far as to devour that single work of non-fiction, "A Farm In Creamland."
Sadly, very little information exists for on Mr. Garvice's life here in the United States, though through bits and pieces from the Internet and other resources, we had centered on North Devon as the place to look. Thanks to your newsletter, we now have a bit more to go on. I realize this is a terrible imposition, but would you know of any other sources of information on Mr. Garvice in your area? I would be most grateful for any leads you could give me.
Thank you so much, Alicia Corts
