Parish Council report, by Paul Clarke

Bus shelter

Parishioners will be pleased to see that the graffiti that adorned the bus shelter has been removed but at a cost of £51.76 before VAT. Perhaps those responsible for this daubing would like to contribute to this cost thereby reducing the cost to ratepayers.

Street parking

Parking by the Post Office is again on the increase as is parking on the pavement - both cause obstruction. Parking in the Square is a practical alternative leaving the area outside the Post Office clear for goods deliveries. The Council would appreciate a positive response to this suggestion which would lessen the need to ask the Police to spend time on extra random checks to monitor and control the situation.

Mobile lengthsmen

…are expected to be working in the parish during the week from 5th March. Cllr. Mrs. Sheila Wright should be informed of any items requiring their attention.

Neighbourhood Watch

There have been reports of unidentified persons lurking at night around the residential estates. They could be targeting cars. There are also reports of late night telephone calls from apparent strangers which worry those being called. Please take extra care to protect your property and report any suspicious activities direct to the Police.

The annual parish meeting

…is on 27th April when local organisations are invited to report on their activities. This meeting will be followed by the monthly council meeting.

Foot and mouth outbreak

Bradworthy Parish Council would like to remind all parishioners not to use the public footpaths and bridleways of the parish whilst the foot and mouth emergency remains

Thank you for your help in this matter.
