Councillors reported the best ever attendance and donations to Children's Hospice SW amounted to £166. Holding the event on Christmas Eve rather then the last Sunday before Christmas seemed to be a popular request. Please let any Councillor know your views.
The Rev. Richard Dorrington reported damage to two headstones in the Churchyard.
In order to accommodate proposed new buildings the swimming pool will go. Anyone concerned should contact the Headteacher for further information.
Several places in the parish suffer from this nuisance. This offence carries a hefty fine and with both County and District Councils well aware of the situation action could well follow their investigations.
The Torridge District Plan is available for Consultation until 23rd February. The Parish Council response will express concern that land at Lew is being earmarked for an industrial estate when the present one in nowhere like full and there to space to expand to the rear of Langdon Road. The Council wants clarification of the number of new houses proposed for the village and also wishes to see affordable housing for local people given priority.
In view of its deteriorating condition the Parochial Church Council is considering selling it. The Rev Richard Dorrington intents to hold a discussion session to explain the situation to parishioners. Please watch out for time and date.
