The October meeting of the WI was presided over by the President Mrs. M. Lewis. The speaker was Mrs. Phyllis Vanstone of Clovelly who spoke on Christmas ideas with flowers. The competition for a 'nature photo' was won by Mrs. K. Stevens. Flower of the month was won by Mrs. W. Taylor Teas were served by Mrs. K. Stevens and Mrs. M. Wooldridge.
At the November meeting the AGM took place. Officers elected were President Mrs. M. Lewis, Secretary Mrs. M. Martin, Treasurer Mrs. K. Stevens. The speaker was Mrs. V. Innis who spoke on police work. Competition for a tray was won by Mrs. M. Carter, Mrs L. Dawe and Mrs. M. Martin. Flower of the month Mrs. W. Taylor. Teas by Mrs. Lewis and Mrs. Dawe. Vote of thanks Mrs. Lewis.
The cricket club held their annual dinner at the Royal Hotel, Bideford. The Player of the Year was Wayne Pomeroy, and the 'club-man' was Nigel Molder. Catch of the season was held by Phil Priest. A very enjoyable evening finished with a disco.
A Service of Remembrance was held in the Church, taken by the Rev. R. Dorrington. The lesosn was read by Mrs. M. Bucanon-Jones and the organist was Mrs. J. Mitford.
