Despite the wet weather members of Bradworthy Bowling Club have enjoyed their season.
The men had an average season in their league competitions. Peter W. Wade won Section One of the County Singles, and with Rosemary Reed won the Millennium Trophy in a County mixed pairs competition.
The ladies had a good year. With seven lady members receiving their county badges at the start of the season, two, Pam Ham and Jackie Rowe had been picked to play for the John Trophy Team against Cornwall.
In the County fours Sheila Corner, Meryl Cross, Shirley Davis and Lillian Clements reached the semi-final. Edith Cleave, Kath Andrew and Pam Ham reached the quarterfinals of the County triples. Lillian Clements and Sheila Corner won through to the final of the County pairs and qualified to play at Leamington Spa in the national pairs, an experience they will never forget. The ladies had also done well in the County Interclub competition and the Travelsphere. They also won 'The 86 Shield League' and 'The 86 Top Club Shield'. Ladies how did you loose to the men when playing the needle match?
