Bradworthy Parish Council discussed a variety of topics including
The Square Committee reported damage to the wooden seat and also noted that capping stones had been dislodged.
Several potholes were noted as needing repair and several potholes and low places in the Square require filling.
This has been run by the County Council and has come to the end of its supported period. It has been offered to the village which would then become responsible for all costs, training and for maintaining an access timetable. This will need a considerable commitment from the whole community. Anyone able to help should contact the Parish Clerk or any Councillor. The Council considers that a ten day period is not long enough for the village to research this offer and is requesting more time in which to carry out a feasibility study.
Cllr Trevor Sillifant had been approached ,about the number of cars that cause obstruction outside the school in Mill Road during pupil drop-off and pick up times. Cars could park in The Square which is nearby and it was suggested a 'virtual bus' could operate where necessary.
It was also noted that parking along by the Chapel in North Road frequently caused children to walk out in the roadway which is restricted in useable width - this puts children at unnecessary risk. With the large parking area of the Square there is no need for indiscriminate parking.
Cllr Raymond Ham was concerned about overhanging hedges and appealed for cutting to be carried out as soon as is seasonally appropriate.
TDC has made a good job of erecting safety fencing - unfortunately children are playing about on the narrow maintenance strip outside the fence which will need adjustment to make the area properly safe.
Two properties in the parish are being monitored by the TDC Enforcement Officer because of breaches of consent regarding the placement and use of mobile homes.
