Bradworthy News - August 2000

Correspondence, from Jo Foster

Has anyone else experienced petty vandalism?

The mesh ventilation to our pantry window will have to be replaced (yet again) - someone likes to think they are practising penetration! I hope they managed to do it unsafely. Warning - it's the dog's food that's stored therein, and she knows how to open the pantry door latch!

Also litter is sometimes dropped over our front wall (sweet/ crisp wrappers etc). Could those responsible please refrain, simply take your rubbish and stuff it… In your own bin. This also applies to sundry deposits elsewhere in this village, we always pick up after our dog and do not drop other rubbish anywhere.

Such petty nuisances spoil the great atmosphere of this village.

With those few spoiling things for the majority, there would seem to be little point in entering the "Best Kept Village" competition and I am sure that the Guides have far better things they could be doing then clearing up after the lazier members of this community ? not that their efforts go unappreciated, they are, but there should not be the need for them to feel obliged to clear up public areas.
