The orange badge used by disabled drivers to park with little or no consideration for anyone else, whether in other vehicles or pedestrians, is gradually being phased out and replaced by an European ‘blue badge’. New applicants will get the blue badges - existing orange badges will be replaced as they come up for renewal.
