Anne Shadrick MBE

An appreciation by Trevor Sillifant

It is with a real sense of sadness and loss that I write this as Anne was an inspiration to many who have overcome life's problems and disabilities.

She was brave, had great courage and always enjoyed life, as a wife, mother and grandmother. It was only a short time ago that she was singing her own songs with me at Northam Methodist Church. Then for the second time I interviewed her about her life for the radio. She told me that she felt that her life was most worthwhile and that it was in God's hands. Replaying the broadcast you have the feeling that there was a person who never moaned or gave up on life. No one was more deserving of an MBE as Anne because she was a true example of facing up to life's challenges.

In fact she was loved by all who came into contact with her. To Allan and the family we think of you in our prayers and our sympathy is with you at this time.
