The theme for this year's Sunday School Anniversary was Tile Sower went out to sow. At the Sunday morning Service the children acted out the parable of' the sower with musical accompaniment and a variety of poems, songs and prayers. The emphasis was on how we receive God's word. At the evening service the emphasis was on how we let the word grow in our lives and spread it on to others using the parable of the mustard seed. The children gave a demonstration of growing 'seeds' of kindness and love In our daily lives and how both good (and bad) things can grow from small beginnings. Plant flowers not weeds was the general idea!
The Chapel was appropriately decorated with seedlings and plants grown by the children. The morning service was led by Mr. Paul Woolner of Bude. Mr Clive Smale of Bradworthy took the evening service.
The following Tuesday evening The Reverend John Peek led the service which was a combination of items for the previous services. The children were presented with books from the Sunday School which were given out by Mrs. Ruth Wade.
The service was followed by supper in the Sunday School Room. At each service Mrs. Elaine Peak led the children's items with Mrs. Linda Smale and Mrs. Shirley Davis providing piano and organ accompaniment. Children taking part were
Lisa and Nikki Smale, Katrina and Hannah Petherick, Michaela and Dantella Stevens, Aymee and Jasmine Cann, Sadie Harris, Anne Tallamy, Chantelle Seymour-Smith, Megan Furse, Emma Brown and Kristina Sutton.
