Eric's crossword puzzle
In the absence of a crossword this month as Eric didn't do one, we thought a puzzle would be appropriate. Answers, as usual, to Eric Mitchell, the Old School House, Well Kept Meadows, Bradworthy. This will be especially interesting as Eric was unable to work out the answers! If you are caught asking Bob the Clock you'll be disqualified.
- On a clock the hour hand lines up exactly with the minute hand at noon. When do they next line up exactly (it's not 5 past one!)
- On a clock the hour hand lines up exactly with the minute hand and the second hand at noon. When do all three next line up exactly?
- When is the first time, after noon, that the minute hand is exactly opposite the hour hand?
- Finally, a bit trickier. When is the first time, after noon, that the hour minute and second hands are equidistant from each other (i.e. they look a bit like a Mercedes Benz 3-pronged star)?
