Many years ago I remember a local choir singing at Bradworthy Cross Methodist Church All in the April evening. As the years have gone by this song has always meant to me the start of Spring. By now we will, I hope, have returned from a quick visit to Pembrokeshire and with the lighter evenings, gardening and grass cutting will restart and the birds dawn chorus in the valley can be heard.

Rev. Richard Dorrington our Vicar gave a very interesting talk at Holsworthy Rotary Club. His subject being his work in the community. He said he has the best job in the world. I was delighted to have had a part in the Naming and Blessing celebration of Ella Merry Jane the granddaughter of my very good friends Paul and Enid Clarke of Atworthy Cross.
Yes, Jennifer and I are very much looking forward to this year's Bradworthy Carnival. When I was asked to be the president for this Millennium event I was, for once, quite speechless and felt very honoured. Let's hope for a good crown and a fine evening. I first took part in Bradworthy Winter Carnival aged 8 as a cowboy walking around the village with, at that time, flaming torches and it rained and was cold. George Plummer was the announcer with Brommels radiogram. Even then I wanted his job and to be on the radio. Then it was just a dream, but some dreams do come true.

Last November a naked madman cut down six victims with a samurai sword in a RC Church. John Prescott, deputy PM is to introduce a plan to charge the motorist to drive into city centres if this is backed by the polls. A recent survey tells us that underage sex is soaring.
I have nothing to hide - Lord Archer. This baby is a real surprise - Tony Blair. We do not accept this type of planning - Cllr Mrs. M. Coles. I am to quit as an MP -Teresa Gorman. I do not want to stop teaching - R. Dunstan, Holsworthy CC. I have another number 1 - Sir Cliff Richard.
What do you get if you cross a centipede and a parrot? A walkie-talkie. Why is a coward like a leaky tap? Because they both run. When is a cigar like a fish? When it is smoked.
