Children's Art Competition

A prize-giving ceremony in connection with the recently held Children's Art Competition took place on Saturday 18 March at 2pm in the Church Hall.

The entries were divided up into 3 groups, with the winning entries and runners up each receiving a gift token from the retail store W.H. Smith to the value shown below.

Special Merit Award - Best picture in the Competition - £15 token

Chalade Hudson

First prizes - £10 token to each artist

Aymee Cann, Jack Hayward and Thomas Neville

Second prizes - £6.00 token to each artist

Jasmin Harper, Jessica Lowe and William Radford

Third prizes - £4.00 token to each artist

Georgina Strutt, Thomas Neil and Jordanne Morris

A total of 66 paintings were entered in the competition and £35 given towards church restoration work. As in previous years, the standard of the entries was very high and the competition judges were given a difficult task.

May we thank Bradworthy Social Club and Bradworthy Local Agenda 21 Group for each donating the sum of £37.50 to enable us to purchase the prizes. We would also like to thank all the young artists who took part in the competition and express our appreciation to the Headmaster and staff of the County Primary School for their active participation in staging the event.
