The arrival of a mobile caterer, unannounced, can as quite a surprise to most of the village. Even more surprising as Andrew and Andrea Watts had been residents of the village since 1996. They certainly kept quiet about all this, and I, ace reporter for the Bradworthy News, was once again the last to know about it- so no change there, eh?
They live with Andrew's parents (Mr and Mrs Watts I guess) who bought Mill Farm in 1992 and moved in in 1996. When they came here from Hampshire Andrew and Andrea worked for North Devon Meats, Andrew as a pork butcher for 4 years.
They started in mobile catering in the late eighties, servicing events such as motorbike rallies and whatever, and have been doing it off and on since then.
They formed Starlight Catering in December last year and provide a regular service from a site on the Square. They are there from Monday to Thursday from 5.30pm to Midnight.
They also cover farm sales, markets and events - if you need them to cater for something you're organising, you can discuss it with them at 241047 or via their mobile number 07979 554507. They serve a range of goodies such as donner kebab, chicken kebab, beef burgers, bacon rolls, hell, I'm getting hungry, bacon and egg rolls, hot dogs - find out for yourself I'm starving.
Someone (I'm not saying who) is putting a rumour about that they may be doing half price donner and/or chicken kebabs for a short time so it is worth keeping your ears to the ground. Unless it's raining 'cos you'll get wet.
