Bradworthy News - February 2000

Millennium Garden News, by Angela Yeo

As the result of a meeting between interested garden gurus, the following strategies have evolved.

Garden plans have been scrutinised. A Celtic cross was combined with raised flower beds and a central mosaic stating ANNO DOMINÆ 2000 around the rim.

A willow workshop will be held in the autumn as it was agreed that more time needed to be spent on construction throughout the year.

It is gratifying that so many letters of support have been received from so many interested groups.

A good spring clean of the site is proposed during the weekend Feb. 12th - 13th daily from 10 am to 12 noon and 2 to 4pm. You may offer your help for any period during these hours no matter how limited or extended your time spent on site might be. We need to clear concrete posts (bring pickaxe, sledgehammer), fencing (wire snippers), garden rubbish! The site is adjacent to 30, Tuckers Park, the sheltered housing area.

We are also seeking wood carvers, sculptors (stonemasons) enamel/paint artists who would create wild animals to hide in the shrubs (fox, rabbit, maligned badger or any other suitable creature), birds (including the Bradworthy horniwink), reptiles, amphibians etc. which would provide interest for everyone.

This is your garden. We do look forward to your willing involvement.
