Parish Council

Hedges

The Council notes that several overgrown roadside hedges have been cut back following its request to the owners concerned. Their co-operation is appreciated.

Electricity power supply

Several Parishioners are concerned that at peak use times the level of supply falls below the legal limit. This drop in power can damage equipment SWEB intends to install boosters in the main line supply to help rectify this problem.

This procedure has worked well in the Bude area. TDC advise that an order was placed to install a lighting column “outside of nos 5 and 20 Tuckers Pk”

Computer technology

The 'Bradworthy Appraisal' is being put on the Internet through the Bradworthy Intracom. This facility, based in the Memorial Hall is under-used the organising committee is keen to get more people involved - it may be the case of a use it or lose it situation when the present arrangement with the County Council ends.

The precept

This is the sum required to fund the annual running of the Parish Council. For two years it has remained at £4,000. With additional needs and to build adequate reserves as recommended by our advisers the precept will go up by £1000.

Trees

The North Devon Coast and Countryside Service offers free trees for planting on farmland, field corners and waste ground. Contact Toni Hynes on 01237 423655.

Millennium garden

Notes by Cllr. Mrs. Angela Yeo are keeping parishioners well informed of the progress of the project. The Council thanks all who contributed to the collection for the Millennium Garden made at the Carols Round the Tree Service, between £80 and £90 was donated on the night.
