Bradworthy has been selected as one of the target areas for our Free Trees Scheme. Native deciduous trees and shrubs including as oak, ash, hazel and cherry are available for planting on farmland, particularly in field corners or on waste land.
Up to fifty trees are available for landowners of smaller holdings (less than ten acres), and up to one hundred trees for over ten acre farms. Village sites, gardens and new hedges are outside the scheme. A site visit will usually be required when the specifics of the scheme can be discussed.
Although it is not essential that the trees be planted next to footpaths, bridleways or roads those schemes which offer the greatest public and wildlife benefit are the most likely to receive trees if the demand is very great.
