Carnival, by Richard Boughton

Carnival Committee Social Gathering

On Saturday 16th October the Molesworth Arms, Pyworthy was this year's venue for the Carnival Committee Social Gathering

An enjoyable set meal of roast beef or lamb was devoured followed by mouth-watering desserts. Although secretary, Richard Boughton, jibbed over his chocolate fudge pudding! (“Eyes bigger than his belly!”)

Gifts of Spode china were presented to retiring Chairman, William Ley, and Treasurer, Robert Lewis, by Carnival President, Raymond Furse.

Richard Boughton gave tribute to them both. William having given thirteen years of chairmanship and Robert for his impeccable control of the Treasury. They will be greatly missed, not only for their official duties but for all the support provided leading up to the July Carnival Day.

Carnival AGM

Unfortunately due to low attendance this could not take place. It is intended to hold it again on Wednesday 10th November at 8pm in the Methodist Sunday School Room.

Some have said that the Carnival should be run by Bradworthy people. If this is so, then I would be grateful if you could come to the AGM, or send somebody from your organisation so that we can get a new committee elected and start organising next year's Carnival.

I look forward to seeing you.
