Bradworthy News - October 1999

An ode to Ada

She looks out of the windows and waves to the folk,
as they merrily go round the Square;
Pleading for someone to talk to, or perhaps a joke to share;
Despite the fact that the floors ripped up, next time it may be the stairs;

This poor little soul who lives upstairs - all alone, except for a dog;
With that dear little face and those sad little eyes, not the dog's , but Ada's, poor sod;
So please, don't plead out of the window, for attention or maybe a 'bob';
Just remember you have the advantage on us;
You are that much closer to God !
