The Council voted to join this scheme. The Council will pay towards the cost of travel passes. The New rates now operate and parishioners will make considerable savings on their passes.
Councillors thanked Mr. Marcus Millman who, once again, has tidied up the path area from the Square to St. Johns Drive. They also mentioned those folk around the Square who do much to keep the bus shelter and other places clear of litter not forgetting the work done regularly by the Guides.
The muddy and wet area of the Bridleway from Littleford to Mill Road has been cleaned and drained. Thanks were expressed to Mr. David Bailey who carried. out this work which was grant aided by the County Council.
By popular request the two hour South West Emergency Lifesaving and Learning Skills session is being repeated on Tuesday, 7th September at 7.30ppi in the Memorial Hall. Those wishing to attend should contact the Parish Clerk or any Councillor as soon as possible.
Despite all appeals to dog owners there is no real improvement in the situation. There are indications that the dog warden is getting more feedback from Bradworthy recently. This will help him to more effectively monitor the area and lessen this nuisance.
It was noted that the Anvil Corner Civic Amenity Centre for waste and recyclable material is open 7 days a week between 10am and 4pm.
The Council has approached Westcountry TV asking that the local news from Barnstaple is available on both Huntshaw Cross and Carradon Hill Transmitters. Those who cannot get Barnstaple local news -nay wish to make this fact known to Westcountry by writing direct to them.
Local organisations should make application in writing to the Parish Clerk as soon as possible please and not later than Friday, 17th September for consideration at the Council meeting on 24th September.
