Local businesses - new or established - situated in the North Tamar Leader area that employ less than 10 full-time equivalents (but not subsidiaries or franchises) are eligible for the 'wage subsidy scheme'.
The job must be full time, (over 16 hours per week) and be offered to a person unemployed for over 6 months, over 25 years old… who is not eligible for New Deal.
The support offered is for 20 places with 12 months support and 20 places with 6 months support. Each place can attract a maximum £57.15 per week.
In addition the scheme can assist with travel allowances, subsistence allowances, childcare allowances (with registered childminder only), assistance with work related equipment, training counselling and possible training support through our related Training Chest Grant Scheme
To apply contact your local Jobcentre at Bude who will be able to advise on this and other support schemes. If you register a vacancy with the Jobcentre you will be required to fill out an employee application form and your business premises will be visited to assess regulatory compliance.
