Due to the efforts of local environmental campaigners, the Tetcott Hunt have been forced to seek retrospective planning permission for the incinerator at Rowden farm, Kilkhampton. This incinerator is used to burn specified offal (and therefore potentially contaminated with BSE) from carcasses cut up on the premises. No environmental assessment has been undertaken. There exists the potential threat of contamination of the local environment from the by products of the butchery of the carcasses and the process of incineration itself. Further environmental pollution could result from the release of other emissions from the stack, including dioxins. If you would like to voice your opposition to this, write to the address below requesting notification of the retrospective planning permission. Once this has been received, write again listing your concerns.
