Bradworthy fair needs you!We would like to make Bradworthy Fair even more enjoyable this year and are looking for new ideas. What would you like to see here on August Bank Holiday Monday 1999? Do you feel like putting on Victorian or medieval costume or dressing up in sacking and cross-garters as one of the Saxons who founded our village? How about volunteering for a sponsored "rest" in the stocks or the village lock-up? Get a team together for the Tug 0' War to win the coveted Bradworthy Fair pewter tankard and a drop in it to sup. Do you have any skills that you could demonstrate and let others try their hand? |
Help needed for Bradworthy Fair 1999 Planning meeting to plan Bradworthy fair 1999 the Fair belongs to everyone after all, so why not come along with your ideas or requests? Help badly needed Thursday 18th March Memorial Hall, new committee room, 7.30pm Everyone welcome - young people especially so! |
What about opening your gardens to visitors with a Bradworthy Garden Safari? Sell those pots of cuttings, exchange gardening wisdom, have a chat with like-minded souls. Why not celebrate and support the fabric of the Parish Church with a Church Flower Festival to add to funds raised by trips up the tower?
Local organisations who have put on activities or stalls say, that it has given a welcome boost to their funds, so why not get your group to work on some traditional activities. What about a coconut shy, Aunt Sally, chucking the wet sponge, flick-cards, Lucky Dip, greasy pole or pillow fights? It would be good to have more things to make us all giggle.
We badly need more hands to help with planning and on the day itself. Setting up hurdles and displays, hanging flags and so on takes many helpers, but the clear-up operation at 5pm. needs all hands on deck, however large or small. We also need plenty of stewards to help with car parking, programme selling and crowd guidance. Please be kind enough to get involved this year; it's fun, it makes you feel good and it can raise funds for your group.
The next planning meeting is in the Memorial Hall, new committee room, on Thursday l8th March at 7.30pm. We look forward to seeing you there.
