Bradworthy News - January 1999

Editorial, by Phil Mayhall

Happy New 1999 to all readers of, advertisers in, and contributors to, the Bradworthy News. I just read that 300 million people and a fifth of all trade in the world will happen in Euroland using the Euro - and we aren't part of it. Bad start!

Best Wishes to Simon Downing, who's going off to Oz for twelve months. Apparently he hopes to meet a better class of strip poker player down under, as he reckons, that local poker players simply aren't good enough. The names of the other local players, who are probably at this very moment considering going with him, are listed on the inside back page.

Dear mums and dads, if your youngster just read the inside back page they are almost certainly guilty, if they didn't then they missed out!

The 1998 Bradworthy Sports Personality of the Year award was shared by Les and Dukey, who managed to score at doubles a total of 4 in 6 darts. One scored one, the other three - you'll have to ask them if vou want to know which way round it was.

The cover drawing this month is another of the designs for the Bradworthy Church Kneeler project, thanks. The deadline for the February issue is the 20th, so get your contributions to Phil Mayhall, Hillcrest, Lower Village (241748) as soon as possible.
